Former neighbours, Jim bought Bruce a copy of Brenda James's book The Truth Will Out in 2006. Jim was excited about the Neville theory and the possibility of a decryption of the Dedication to Shakespeare's Sonnets.
The recent publication of Henry Neville and the Shakespeare Code by Brenda James has revealed her long-awaited analysis of the Dedication to the Sonnets (1609), from which she first identified Sir Henry Neville. This second book is of particular interest to us because her first book The Truth Will Out prompted us to correspond with her and to work on our own solutions with the hope that we could arrive at her then undisclosed discoveries independently.
Early on we made progress supporting her theory, which we published in The Australian on 19th July 2006. We now know that our decryptions used a number of strategies which were different from hers, and reveal distinct messages which nevertheless reinforce her theory. However, we could hardly claim that our decryptions were totally independent because Brenda James had postulated her theory that Henry Neville was the true author.
In the meantime, we have advanced our original decryptions with results we regard as very significant.
